•           Sangeet

Sangeet is an event in which a proper musical night is arranged and especially all the girls, women and aunties of the family, the bride/groom’s friends and close relatives are invited where they have a fun-filled musical night, singing songs on a dholak (double-headed drum) and dancing on the beat of traditional music followed by the dinner. You can wear anything traditional in this event.

•           Haldi/Ubtan

This is a pure Indian tradition in which the bride’s family arrange a dinner for the close relatives and the groom’s family. All the aunties in the house are expected to give a gentle face and hand massage to the bride from Ubtan which is a mixture of sandalwood powder, turmeric, Gram flour milk and milk cream. Similarly, the groom gets a gentle massage from his friends and cousins. All the guests are expected to wear yellow dresses with some bright color contrast.

•           Mehandi

The Mehndi event and its traditions vary from cast to cast. Some of the most common beautiful traditions are sharing sweets, applying attractive and catchy designs of henna on the hands and feet of the bride and all the females in the house, dance performances followed by the dinner. You can wear anything traditional as per your choice at this event as well.

•           Baraat

Baraat is the most awaited and a little bit of emotional event of the wedding week. If it is a pure Indian wedding then the bride is expected to wear the traditional red attire only which is really attractive and multiplies the beauty of an event by seventy times.
It is a dinner arranged by the bride’s family. The Groom reaches the venue with proper steel band mostly riding on the horse or the horse carriage.
Both of the two ties the knot as per the religious customs where Hindu couples sit in a mandap and perform Pooja exchange the War-masala and mangalsutra while the Muslim couples have the proper Nikkah ceremony followed by signing in the marriage certificate.
The most sensitive part of the event is paying a farewell to the bride. The family is often emotional at this time and they see off the bride with happy and emotional tears.

•           And Finally the Reception

The reception is the final main event of the wedding week arranged by the groom’s family. It is a pure get-together and there are no boundaries of traditions and you do not have to worry about what to wear at the event, you are free to flaunt anything you like. It is just a dinner arranged to introduce the bride in the new family where all the close relatives, friends and colleagues are invited.
